Arizona Recovers: Mental Health Track

Arizona Recovers, as a community partner, is committed to lessening the burden and assisting with continued care for patients who are identified moderate to high risk for suicide through BRAVE Connections-Mental Health Track.

Patients post attempt are most at risk seven days post discharge and up to 70% never attend their first outpatient appointment (Knesper, 2010). It has been found that emergency department interventions could reduce annual deaths from suicide by 20% (National Action Alliance Suicide Prevention: Research Prioritization Task Force, 2014).

Eligibility & Goals

Patients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideations, and post attempt are eligible for Arizona Recovers Mental Health Track.

The Goals of the program are to:

  • Reduce readmission to Emergency Department
  • Improve compliance with follow up care
  • Increase in personal coping and resiliency skills

Peer Support Program

Our Peer Support Program is a community of peers that is low barrier and a pioneer concept in Arizona open to all individuals struggling with substance use, mental health, and/or trauma! Our passion to help people at all levels of recovery is built on effectively listening to the community and their needs. This community is peer led, person centered, and trauma informed.

How It Works:

  • “Caring Contacts” post discharge for a year including phone calls and postcards.
  • Peer support program post discharge for a year utilizing motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques and focusing on developing resiliency skills.
  • Connection with patient and/or family virtually within Emergency Department or request services here.

Mental Health Programs

ZERO Suicide

Across health and behavioral health care settings, there are many opportunities to identify and provide care to those at risk for suicide. Before that can happen, suicide prevention must first be seen as a core responsibility of health care.
